  • Screw the motherboard into the standoff screws using motherboard screws, which have a finer thread than most other screws. Remember not to overtighten!
  • Connect the power supply by finding the ATX power plug and attaching it to the ATX power connector. (24 pin connector, match latch with latch on motherboard port)
  • Locate the 4-pin or 8-pin auxiliary CPU connector and attach it to the motherboard.

    • Power Button
    • Power LED
    • Reset Button
    • Hard Drive LED
    • Speaker

      • these are special for some reason. most motherboards have all the USB connectors as a single plug.
      • for motherboards that DON'T do that for some reason:
        • find the 4-pin connector with the wires that are labeled VCC, USB2- and USB2+, along with a ground wire
        • match up the VCC wire with pin 1 on the header
        • match up the second ground wire and connect it to pin 5
        • repeat this process for any additional USB wires 😭😭😭 Don't forget to refer to the motherboard manual, which defines each header and what component connects to it.
