Plenum

The spaces above false ceilings and below raised floors, usually used to wire electrical wiring for the lights, and where the air handle ducts are routed.

A rating level for twisted-pair cables, designed to to lay in plenum spaces. They must meet strict regulations regarding fire safety, so they're coated with flame retardant and use plastics that don't smoke.
