Disk Status

An enumeration of all the disk and volume stati hehe fnuuy that can be displayed in the Disk Management tool on Microsoft-Windows.

Status Description
HEALTHY // ONLINE Disk is active and accessible, volumes are valid and are error-free
FORMATTING Shown for volumes during the formatting process.
UNALLOCATED Shown when portions of a disk haven't been assigned a partition or volume.
INITIALIZING Shown when a disk is being convert from basic to dynamic.
NO MEDIA Shown for an invalid optical or removable media drive (CD/DVD-ROMs)
FOREIGN Shown for a dynamic disk that was created in a different system than the current one. Must be imported to be used in the current system.
NOT INITIALIZED // UNKNOWN Indicates an invalid Master-Boot-Record or a missing/corrupt partition table. Requires initialization to resolve, or the use of third-party tools.
ONLINE // ERRORS I/O errors detected on the dynamic disk. Try to reactivate the disks.
UNAVAILABLE Errors have occurred on physical/dynamic discs.
UNREADABLE Hardware, I/O, or corruption failures detected. Can be triggered by a delay in reading the disk by Disk Management. Rescan the disk to try to resolve that.
MISSING // OFFLINE Shown when a dynamic disk has failed, been removed, or turned off. If turned off, turn it back on and reactivate the disk. If the disk is not, delete the disk from Disk Management.
FAILED Volume cannot be started. Disk cold be damaged or the file system has corrupted. Try to reactivate the volume. If failed, possible data loss might've occurred.
