Motion Sensor

A hardware device that's able to detect the slightest of movements within a preset area.

Motion sensors are a key part of security systems, and they require special software and configuration to be effective. There are two types of motion sensor.

Active Sensors

These motion sensors use ultrasonic waves to detect movement in an area.

Passive Sensors

These motion sensors detect infrared energy, which are emitted by things like people or animals. They ignore small changes to prevent false alarms.
