Domain Controller

A specialized server used to handle authentication requests and enforce security policies on workstations connected to a domain.

Features:

  • allows authenticated hosts to access resources stored on any of the workstations connected to the domain
  • stores user account information in a centralized storage database on the domain controller server, allowing users to sign in with their credentials on any domain-connected workstation
  • maximum of 1200 domain controllers per domain
