Volumes

A persistent directory accessible by containers.

Volumes in Kubernetes should (theoretically) always be available to a pod, even if when it crashes, moves, or restarts.

types

Kubernetes supports many kinds of volumes, including:

• an empty directory
• a path located on the host machine
• a Google Cloud Persistent Disk (whatever that is)
• an AWS Elastic Blockstore
• an NFS share
• an iSCSI block
• a CephFS instance
• a Git repository
• a secret
