Second Impact Dot Printers

A type of printer that converts text and image files and prints it onto a sheet of paper using solenoids.

Printing Process

Solenoids are little coils that are in the print head. During the printing process, they get really hot, hot enough to burn you. The solenoids in second impact dot printers present a hazard when servicing those types of printers.
